7. SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL REPORT

Flyers pertaining to Friday pre-conference workshops prior to the IASB Annual Conference will be available at our meeting.
RtI Data Day was held on Monday, September 14= ^th. The purpose of Data Day was to review DIBELS reading results and schedule groups for Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Teachers = and students in grades K-4 will be involved. Staff members providing interventions will be Mrs. Heider, Mr. Zobac, Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Wendelin, and Mrs. VanBeuning.
School Improvement Day activities on Friday, September 25^th include training from Scott Foresman representatives on Reading Streets, our n= ew basal reading textbooks/resources and Reading Sidewalks interventions = for Tiers 2 & 3. Reading Sidewalks was an extra purchase that was made to correlate with grade level Reading Streets textbooks. Information will also presented by Mrs. Garrison pertaining to clarity and use of special education modifications.
Since we do not have any activities planned for the October 9^th Teacher Institute, we will have a normal student attendance day on that date. =
Administrative salary compensation has been posted on the school website.

8. COMMITTEE REPORTS -&= nbsp; Mr. Newlan discussed building needs. He proposed to accept

&nbs= p; project #1, with a 20’ x 30’ concrete slab at the entrance of the bus drive.

9. OLD BUSINESS AND INFORMATIONAL

A. Achievement testing for students in grades 1-7 will occur during the week of

&= nbsp; September 28^th – October 2^nd. Testing may continue into the foll= owing week.

B.&nbs= p; According to the Tazewell County Health Department, Robein School could be a =

&= nbsp; community site for the H1N1 vaccine on October 21, 2009 from 3:30 – 8:00 p.m.

&= nbsp; They are in the process of determining available locations and dates.

C. Christmas Program will be held on Thursday, December 17^th at 6:30 p.m.

D. RtI Fall Data per grade level for reading was presented.

Recognition of Schools to I= SBE for FY10. Motion carried.

C.&n= bsp; Approv= e the following Board Policies:

Section<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> 4 – Operational Services 4:170 (Safety), 4:180 (Pandemic Preparedness);

Section 6 – Instruction 6:120 (Education of Children with Disabilities); and

Section 8 – Community Relations 8:30 (Visitors to a= nd Conduct on School Property)

Motion by Potts, seconded b= y Schwader to approve Board Policies 4:170, 4:180, 6:120,

and 8:30. Motion carried.

D.&n= bsp; Approv= e to amend the school calendar for a regular student attendance day on Friday, October= 9, 2009.

Motion by Vangunten, second= ed by Schwader to approve to amend the school calendar for

E.&n= bsp; Approv= e to employ individuals to provide instructional, OT, and PT services to a homeb= ound student, per IEP requirements for the 2009-2010 school year.

Motion by Schwader, seconde= d by Vangunten to approve to employ individuals to provide

2009-2010 school year. Motion carried.

F.&n= bsp; Approv= e a bid for a 20’ x 30’ x 8” 4500 lb. reinforced concrete slab from Chad Zike at a cost of $4,300.00.
